I loved Village of the Damned and book The Midwitch Cuckoo's. I have only seen the 1960s movie so having read your review I'll definitely watch the remake! It reminded me of the Fae folklore about changelings. The children were genuinely menacing.
Men is a great movie, for me, none of the events actually happened and it was all in Harper's head. She was having a mental breakdown and this was her accelerated method of grieving. I really connected with the movie having lost a boyfriend to suicide. Although thinking about it, maybe I was seeing what I wanted to see in the movie? Either way, I found it really powerful and enjoyable if grueling.
